Sourceanthropic.comOpenAI just adopted Anthropic's MCPVisit

Anthropic released the Model Context Protocol back in November, and I mostly ignored it because it looked like a developer thing. Then OpenAI adopted it two weeks ago, which almost never happens between those two, so I went back and actually read up on it.

MCP is a standard way to connect an AI to the systems where your information lives, so the AI can pull what it needs instead of you feeding it. That's the problem I've been working around for two years. I maintained custom GPT knowledge by hand, then built a retrieval setup to stop doing it by hand, and the whole time what I actually wanted was for the AI to just see my meetings, my tickets, and my documents where they already are.

I don't get to use much of this yet, since the tools I live in day to day haven't wired it up for someone like me. But two powerhouse competitors agreeing on a standard usually means the thing is about to be everywhere.
